PROACTIVE INSPECTION
This feature
allows the manufacturer to inspect the Top-Bottom image of the core
on the PEP and filter out images that do not meet specifications.
This is composed
of two parameters which are:
- Linear positioning error
- Angular positioning error
These parameters represent how far the measured center of the each product can be from the fixed center of the punch pattern.
If the center of the product is closer than these parameters from the center of the punch pattern the system will punch the product.
If the center of the product is farther than these parameters from the center of the fixed punch pattern, the system will attempt to align the product again.
In practice these numbers should be set as small as possible and still get reasonable cycle times. If these numbers are set too small the machine will take too long to punch.
Typical values for these parameters are 0.013mm and 1 mDegree. The angular positioning error of the product is mapped into positional misalignment at the target. 1 mDegree is equal to about 0.005mm of misalignment at the outer edge of the product. Typically this should be set to 1.0 mDegrees.
